Arctic Z1 Basic Desk Mount Monitor Arm: Overview
The Arctic Z1 Basic is a single desk mount monitor arm that holds standard 16:9 monitors up to 34 inches and ultrawide monitors up to 38 inches, made for gamers, designers and office users who want to position one large screen exactly where they need it. It frees up desk space and lets you set a comfortable viewing height.
The arm supports VESA 75x75 and 100x100 mounts and has a load rating of up to 15kg, which gives room for heavier large and ultrawide monitors than many basic arms.
Key Features
- Single arm desk mount: holds one monitor above the desk instead of on its bulky stand.
- 16:9 up to 34 inches, ultrawide up to 38 inches: suits large standard screens and wide monitors used for editing, trading or gaming.
- Load up to 15kg: a higher load rating for heavier large-format monitors.
- VESA 75x75 and 100x100: fits the common mounting patterns on most desktop monitors.
- Adjustable position: move the screen to the height and distance that suits your posture.
Best For
Gamers with large or ultrawide screens, video editors and designers, traders and programmers who use one big monitor, and anyone who wants a clean, open desk surface. It is also helpful in small rooms where desk depth is limited.
Things to Check Before Buying
- Check the back of your monitor for VESA 75x75 or 100x100 mounting holes. Many slim or budget monitors have no VESA holes and need a separate adapter.
- Measure your desk edge thickness and check there is enough clear space under the desktop for the clamp, and that the desk is solid enough to hold the weight.
- Check your monitor weight without its stand in the manufacturer specification, and make sure it is within the arm load rating.
- For ultrawide monitors, check the screen width so the arm can be placed with enough clearance from walls or shelves.
- Keep enough slack in the display and power cables to move the screen freely.
FAQs about Arctic Z1 Basic
Q: Can this arm hold an ultrawide monitor?
A: Yes. The Arctic Z1 Basic is rated for ultrawide monitors up to 38 inches, as long as the screen has VESA 75x75 or 100x100 holes and weighs no more than 15kg.
Q: Is this a single or dual monitor arm?
A: It is a single arm for one monitor. For two screens, look at a dual arm such as the Arctic Z2 Basic.
Q: How do I know my desk can take the mount?
A: Check your desk edge thickness and that the desktop is solid. Thin glass or weak particle board desks may not hold a loaded arm safely, so ask us if unsure.
