Asus ZenScreen MB166CR 16" Full HD Portable USB Monitor

Asus ZenScreen MB166CR 16" Full HD Portable USB Monitor: Overview

The ASUS ZenScreen MB166CR is a slim, lightweight portable USB monitor for laptop users who want a second screen at home, at the office or on the move. It uses a 15.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS panel and connects through a single USB Type-C cable that carries both power and video.

A second screen makes a big difference for freelancers, programmers, students in online classes and anyone who keeps a document open beside a browser or video call. Because it needs no separate power adapter when your laptop supports USB-C video output, the ZenScreen fits easily into a laptop bag and sets up in seconds. It comes with a 3 year warranty.

Key Features

• 15.6" Full HD IPS panel: sharp text and consistent color, with a 178° viewing angle so the picture stays clear from the side.
• Anti-glare surface: reduces reflections from windows and ceiling lights, which helps in bright rooms and cafes.
• Single-cable USB-C (DP Alt Mode): power and video travel over one cable, so there is less clutter on your desk.
• Automatic rotation: the ASUS DisplayWidget Center software switches between landscape and portrait as you turn the screen, handy for reading long documents or code.
• 360° kickstand and tripod socket: stand it at many angles, or mount it on a tripod for presentations and shop counters.
• ASUS Eye Care: TÜV Rheinland-certified Flicker-Free and Low Blue Light, with four blue-light filter levels in the on-screen menu for long work sessions.

Best For

• Freelancers and remote workers who need two screens with a laptop
• Students attending online classes while taking notes
• Programmers and designers who like a portrait screen for code or layouts
• Sales staff and trainers giving presentations away from the office

Setup and Usage Tips

• Check that your laptop USB-C port supports video output (DisplayPort Alt Mode). A USB-C port that only charges or transfers data will not show a picture.
• Install ASUS DisplayWidget Center on your laptop to enable automatic screen rotation.
• On Windows, press Windows + P and choose Extend to use the ZenScreen as a second desktop rather than a mirror.
• Turn on the blue-light filter level that suits you during long evening sessions.
• Carry the monitor in a padded sleeve to protect the panel when travelling.
