BDCOM P3600-04-2AC 4-Port 10G EPON OLT

BDCOM P3600-04-2AC 4-Port 10G EPON OLT: Overview

The BDCOM P3600-04-2AC is a 4-port EPON OLT (optical line terminal) for ISPs and local cable-internet operators who are building or expanding an FTTH network. It sits at the head end of a fiber network, sending service down to customer ONUs through splitters and collecting their traffic back to your core router.

This model combines four EPON ports with a strong uplink section of 4x GE plus 4x 10GE SFP+, a 128 Gbps backplane and dual AC power inputs. That mix makes it a sensible choice for a growing area operator who wants 10G uplinks today without moving to a large chassis OLT.

Key Features

• 4x EPON ports: four separate PON trees, so you can serve several neighbourhoods or buildings from one compact unit.
• 4x GE + 4x 10GE SFP+ uplink: 10G SFP+ ports give plenty of headroom toward your core router or aggregation switch, while the GE ports suit management or smaller links.
• 128 Gbps backplane: enough internal switching capacity to move traffic between PON and uplink ports without becoming the bottleneck.
• Dual AC power: two power inputs let you connect separate supplies, so one failed adapter or circuit does not take subscribers offline.
• BDCOM platform: a brand widely used by ISPs, which makes it easier to find technicians already familiar with its management.

Best For

Area ISPs and cable operators moving customers from copper or wireless to fiber, small and medium ISPs adding a new point of presence, and operators who want 10G uplinks in a single rack unit. It also suits network rooms where reliable power redundancy matters during load-shedding.

Setup and Usage Tips

• Use EPON PON SFP modules and EPON ONUs; GPON ONUs will not work on an EPON port.
• Plan your splitter ratios and optical power budget before laying fiber, and measure received power at the ONU side with an optical power meter.
• Feed the two AC inputs from different sources, for example one from the IPS or online UPS and one from mains, so power redundancy is real.
• Buy 10G SFP+ modules that match your core switch on wavelength and fiber type.
• Change the default management password and keep firmware notes for each site.

FAQs about BDCOM P3600-04-2AC

Q: Will this OLT work with any brand of EPON ONU?
A: EPON is a standard, so many third-party EPON ONUs work, but full management features can differ by brand. Ask us about the ONU models you plan to use before a large rollout.

Q: Are the SFP modules included?
A: The input for this listing does not list included modules, so please check with us which PON and uplink SFP modules come with the unit.

Q: What does dual AC power mean in practice?
A: The OLT has two AC power inputs, so it can keep running if one supply or power line fails.
