ThinkPad T14 in Short

The ThinkPad T series is Lenovo's main business laptop line. The T14 replaced the T490 in 2020 and keeps what people love about ThinkPads: a great keyboard, a strong build, and good repairability. Companies bought them in large numbers, so many good used units now reach Bangladesh after corporate lease periods.

Why buyers in Bangladesh like the T14:

• The keyboard: ThinkPad keyboards are known as some of the best laptop keyboards for long typing and coding.
• The TrackPoint: the red pointing stick in the middle of the keyboard, plus a normal touchpad.
• Build quality: designed for business use and daily travel.
• Service friendly: parts like RAM (on the T14), SSD and battery are easier to deal with than on many consumer laptops.

ThinkPad T14 Gen 1 vs Gen 2 vs Gen 3

Each "Gen" is a yearly update. The body stays similar, but the processor changes. Here is the simple version:

The easiest way to tell the generation of a used T14 is the processor. A Core i5 10th Gen T14 is a Gen 1, an 11th Gen is a Gen 2, and a 12th Gen is a Gen 3. Gen 3 also moved to a taller 16:10 screen. Newer generations are faster, but they also cost noticeably more on the used market.

Which generation makes sense?

• Gen 1: best value. A 10th Gen Core i5 with 16GB RAM is plenty for office work, study, freelancing and programming.
• Gen 2: better graphics (Iris Xe on Intel) and a newer CPU. Worth it if you find a good price.
• Gen 3: the most modern of the three, but the price gap is large for most budget buyers.

ThinkPad T14 vs T14s: What Is the Difference?

The "s" stands for slim. The T14s is the thinner and lighter version of the T14, aimed at people who carry their laptop every day. The trade-offs:

Because T14s RAM cannot be upgraded, always buy a T14s with the RAM you need from the start. That is why we prefer T14s units with 16GB, like the two we have in stock.

Our ThinkPad Picks

ThinkPad T14 Core i5 10th Gen 16GB: best value

Our ThinkPad T14 comes with 16GB RAM already, which is great for multitasking, and it is Grade A with 15 Days Replacement warranty. The 256GB SSD is the one area you may want to upgrade later if you keep many large files. We can help with an SSD upgrade if you need it.

ThinkPad T14s Gen 1 Ryzen 5 Pro: slim with strong multi-core power

The Ryzen 5 Pro 4650U is a 6-core, 12-thread processor, so it does well in tasks that use many cores, like compiling code or exporting files. With 16GB RAM and a slim body, the T14s Gen 1 suits programmers and freelancers who travel.

ThinkPad T14s Gen 2 Core i5 11th Gen: the most storage

With 16GB RAM, a 512GB SSD and Iris Xe graphics, the T14s Gen 2 is the most complete package in our ThinkPad range for just 1,000 Tk more than the T14s Gen 1.

Budget ThinkPads

If 35,000 Tk is too much, the T480, T490 and L14 give you the ThinkPad keyboard and build for less. They come with 8GB RAM, so plan for a RAM upgrade if you multitask heavily.
