Edifier R12U USB powered Multimedia speaker: Overview
The Edifier R12U (model R12U) is a compact 2.0 USB powered multimedia speaker with 2.25 in (60 mm) drivers, a 3.5 mm AUX input and a 180 Hz - 20 kHz frequency response. It is a tidy desk audio choice for office users, students and home PCs that want clear sound in a small footprint.
Edifier is well known for computer and home audio, and the R12U is designed to keep the desk simple, with power from USB and audio through a standard AUX cable.
Key Features
- 2.0 stereo channels: left and right speakers for proper stereo sound.
- 2.25 in (60 mm) drivers: compact drivers tuned for clear voice and everyday music.
- USB powered: no wall adapter; runs from a USB port or USB charger.
- 3.5 mm AUX input: connects to PCs, laptops and other devices that have a headphone or line-out jack.
- 180 Hz - 20 kHz frequency response: focused on clear mid and high frequencies, ideal for speech, lectures and videos.
Best For
- Office desks for meetings, training videos and general PC sound.
- Students who mainly listen to lectures and tutorials.
- Monitors and laptops with weak built-in speakers.
- Small rooms, counters and reception desks.
Setup and Usage Tips
- Connect the USB plug to a computer port or a 5 V USB adapter for power.
- Plug the 3.5 mm AUX cable into the computer's headphone or audio-out jack.
- Place one speaker on each side of the screen at about ear height.
- If your music sounds light on bass, remember the speakers are compact; a 2.1 system with subwoofer gives deeper bass.
- Try another USB port if you hear background noise.
