The SC UPC Fiber Optic Fast Connector is a field-installable SC/UPC connector for FTTH drop cable, made for ISPs and fiber technicians who terminate fiber at the customer end. It lets you put a connector on a drop cable without splicing, so the cable can plug straight into an ONU or adapter.
Fast connectors are the everyday tool for new FTTH connections. With a fiber stripper and cleaver, a technician can terminate a drop cable in a few minutes on site, without carrying a fusion splicer to every house.
The SC/UPC type matches the blue SC/UPC ports found on many ONUs, wall boxes and adapters.

Setup and Usage Tips
- Use a proper fiber stripper and cleaver; a clean, flat cleave is the key to low loss.
- Follow the correct strip length for the connector before inserting the fiber.
- Check that the ONU or adapter is SC/UPC (blue). SC/APC ports (green) need an APC connector.
- Test with a VFL or optical power meter after fitting the connector.
- Keep dust caps on until you plug in.
- Practise on a spare piece of drop cable first if you are new to fast connectors.
- If loss is high, re-cleave and re-terminate rather than forcing the connector.
