Tenda i9 300Mbps Ceiling Mount Access Point: Overview
The Tenda i9 is a 2.4 GHz N300 ceiling mount access point for small offices, shops, cafés and homes that need simple, wider WiFi coverage. It uses an omni-directional antenna, supports AP and Client operating modes, and can be powered by either PoE or a DC adapter.
Flexible power is useful in Bangladesh, where some installations already have PoE switches and others only have a socket nearby. The i9 lets you choose the easier option for each site, and its ceiling design spreads signal evenly across a room.
Key Features
- 2.4 GHz N300 WiFi: reliable wireless for everyday browsing, messaging and online classes.
- Omni antenna: spreads coverage in all directions around the ceiling mount point.
- PoE or DC power: install it with a PoE source or a standard power adapter.
- AP and Client modes: use it as a normal access point or as a client to connect to another WiFi network.
- Ceiling mount: clean installation that suits offices, shops and restaurants.
Best For
- Small shops, pharmacies and cafés.
- Small offices and coaching centres.
- Homes that want even ceiling coverage in a large room.
- Budget guest WiFi.
Setup and Usage Tips
- Decide whether you will power it by PoE or DC; check that your PoE switch type is compatible, and ask us what adapter comes with the unit.
- Mount it near the centre of the area you want to cover.
- Use AP mode for a normal wired installation and Client mode only when you need to connect wirelessly to another network.
- Change the default admin password and set WPA2 security on the WiFi.
- Remember it is 2.4 GHz only; for faster speeds and more users, a dual-band model is better.
Because 2.4 GHz is crowded in many apartment buildings, choose a WiFi channel that is less used by neighbours. This simple step often improves speed and stability noticeably.
FAQs about Tenda i9

A: Yes. It supports both PoE and DC power, so you can use a power adapter instead.
Q: Does it support 5 GHz?
A: No. It is a 2.4 GHz N300 access point.
Q: What is Client mode used for?
A: Client mode lets the i9 connect to another WiFi network as a client, for example to bring a network connection to a wired device.
