Tenda TEG1128P-24-250W 24-Port Gigabit PoE+ Switch with 2 SFP: Overview
The Tenda TEG1128P-24-250W is a 24-port Gigabit PoE+ unmanaged switch with two Gigabit RJ45 and two SFP uplink ports, made for CCTV installers, offices and hotels that need to power many cameras or access points from one rack unit. It offers a PoE budget of about 230 to 250W in a 1U rack design.
As an unmanaged switch, it is plug-and-play: no configuration is needed, which makes it a practical choice for large camera systems where installers want a simple, reliable PoE source. The separate uplink ports let you connect the NVR, router or a fiber link without using PoE ports.
Key Features
- 24x Gigabit PoE+ ports: power and connect up to 24 PoE devices such as IP cameras and access points.
- 2x Gigabit RJ45 + 2x SFP uplinks: connect your NVR, router or a fiber link to another building.
- 230-250W PoE budget: total power shared across all PoE ports.
- Unmanaged: plug-and-play operation with no setup required.
- 1U rack design: mounts in standard 19-inch racks and cabinets.
Best For
- Large CCTV systems in factories, markets, schools and apartments.
- Hotels and offices with many ceiling access points.
- Installers who want simple, no-configuration PoE.
- Network cabinets with fiber uplinks between buildings.
Things to Check Before Buying
- Calculate the total power of your cameras or access points; 24 devices at high power may exceed the 230-250W budget.
- Check that your devices use standard PoE or PoE+, not passive PoE.
- Choose SFP modules that match your fiber cable and the far-end device.
- If you need VLANs or remote monitoring, a managed or smart switch is a better choice than this unmanaged model.
- Use a UPS sized for the switch plus all PoE loads, especially for CCTV that must record through load-shedding.
FAQs about Tenda TEG1128P
Q: Can I power 24 IP cameras with this switch?
A: Many typical IP cameras use modest power, but the total must stay within the 230-250W budget. Add up your camera ratings to be sure.
Q: Do I need to configure this switch?
A: No. It is unmanaged, so you just connect cables and power it on.
Q: What are the SFP ports for?
A: The two SFP uplinks let you connect fiber links, for example to a switch in another building or to your main network rack.
