The TP-Link Omada TL-SM331T is a 1000BASE-T copper SFP module for network engineers and ISPs who need to plug an ordinary Ethernet cable into an SFP slot. It turns an SFP port on a switch, router or OLT into an RJ45 port running at 1.25 Gbps, with a reach of 100 m over Cat5e or better cable.
This is handy when your switch has spare SFP slots but no free copper ports, or when you want to connect a server, router or uplink device that only has RJ45 Ethernet.
It is also a useful spare to keep in a technician bag, since it lets you test or temporarily connect a device to an SFP port without fiber or a media converter.
